Fruit Exhibition is invited to the first edition of VLC Barris en Moviment.
VLC Barris en Moviment is a new project on urban art promoted by Istituto Italiano di Cultura Barcellona and Empresa Municipal de Transportes di Valencia. VLC’s aim is to promote the different aspects of urban and independent culture, from street writing to poster art, hip hop, rap, self-publishing, fanzine productions, urban dance and break dance. Every year the festival will bring a different barrio of Valencia to life, promoting their own underground culture but also inviting an Italian town to bring something new to the table. The first guest-town is Bologna, cradle of independent and underground culture. In the last 30 years, Bologna witnessed the birth of a number of underground cultural centre; projects such as Isola nel Kantiere, Livello 57, Link and TPO turned Bologna into an international counterculture hub. This year the festival will take place in the Poblats Maritims area (Nazareth, Grau Cabanyal y Malvarrosa), locations that turned themselves from difficult, marginal areas into lively and colourful districts, presenting some of the most interesting examples of Valencia’s urban culture.
