ART IS NOT A SERIOUS STUFF. ERIK KESSELS IN CONVERSATION WITH CHANTAL RENS

Saturday 2 February h.17.00, Sala Conferenze, Palazzo Isolani

Supported by the Embassy and General Consulate of The Netherlands.
Conference language: English.

Both dutch artists will give in a lecture an inside in their working process and how humour plays a big part in their practise. Both share the opinion that art and design should be less serious and a more ironic approach could be more than welcome.

Erik Kessels is an artist, designer and curator who is particularly interested in vernacular imagery. He is the co-founder of KesselsKramer, a communication agency in Amsterdam/London and KesselsKramerPublishing, his publishing house. He is best known for his exhibitions and books specialised in absurd photography, which he hunts all over the world.

Chantal Rens is a Dutch artist. She makes collages and books that she publishes herself, under the label PANTOFLE, the publishing house she founded with the Dutch cartoonist and artist Gummbah.
